Church of the Good Shepherd, a nondenominational, contemporary church in Norwalk will host a candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24. The service will be held at 163 New Canaan Ave. in Norwalk and is open to members of the community.
The candlelight Christmas Eve service features carols of the Christian faith and the scriptural retelling of the Christmas story by Church of the Good Shepherd congregants; all against the beautifully decorated backdrop of the church's picturesque floor-to-ceiling stone wall.
The service will end with the congregation singing carols with candles in hand.
"We take great care with the decorations for the season, so that the setting is equal to the event that we are celebrating," said Good Shepherd pastor Kevin Mullins. "We hope that those looking for a place to commemorate the birth of Christ and the wonder of the season will come worship with us."
This celebration is the second Christmas Eve service for Church of the Good Shepherd since the calling of its new pastor in October of 2011. Prior to leading to the ministry at Good Shepherd, Pastor Mullins and his wife Jacinta served in various pastoral capacities with other churches spanning more than 15 years of service.
