NORWALK — A regular customer of a convenience store on New Canaan Avenue was arrested after he passed a note to the clerk demanding money and saying he had a gun, police said.
Damien Maxwell, 28, of 29 Lincoln Ave., Norwalk, was arrested a few minutes after the 1:30 p.m. robbery and charged with first-degree robbery and resisting arrest. He is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Norwalk courthouse today.
Police said after making his demand for money, he was given $40 and fled. He was caught a short distance away and struggled with police before his arrest.
