The Norwalk Education Foundation and the Norwalk Public Library invite members of the community to meet Dr. Manuel Rivera, Norwalk's new superintendent of schools at a reception on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. preceding the College Panel for Parents and Students. Refreshments will be prepared by Norwalk High School culinary students.
Topics addressed by the panel will include the Common Application, which will be discussed by Dan Sullivan, chairman of the Norwalk High School Guidance Department. He will explain the requirements needed to complete the application process.
Financial Aid will be examined by John Pearson, from the Barnum Financial Group. He will address all aspects of financial aid available, need based, merit based and FAFSA. FAFSA qualifies the student for all forms of federal (many state and college-specific) aid, federal student grants, work-study funds, loans and many state and private scholarships.
