As part of a nationwide observance, Norwalk Cove Marina will celebrate National Marina Day on Saturday, from 11 a.m. -- 3 p.m.
"National Marina Day is an annual celebration of the important role marinas play in waterfront communities all across America," said Steve Babbitz, general manager of Norwalk Cove Marina.
"Each day, this country's marinas serve as safe, family-friendly gateways to boating and stewards of the environment. We hope you will visit Norwalk Cove Marina, learn about your communities' marina, and enjoy the events we have planned."
Norwalk Cove Marina's National Marina Day activities include: vessel safety checks, flare demonstrations, water safety awareness tips, seminars on emergency procedures, tours of U.S. Coast Guard rescue vessel, tips on clean boating practices, fire prevention tips, kayak and paddle safety tips, and hands-on activities for kids.
"Now, more than ever, Americans need clean, safe and relaxing locations at which to spend their leisure time. National Marina Day reminds our customers and our community that Norwalk Cove Marina is a local, environmentally-friendly, beautiful waterfront destination," Babbitz added.
National Marina Day is managed by the Association of Marina Industries, a non-profit membership organization representing marinas and marina businesses throughout the United States.
