Fare from area restaurants will be featured at Norwalk Education Foundation's Taste for Education on Nov. 7 at Aitoro's on Westport Ave.
Proceeds from the 6 p.m. event will go toward the organization's mission of supporting programs in the Norwalk public schools.
Foods will be featured from Bar Sugo, Bella Pasta, BJ Ryans/BANC House, Cafe Madrid, Fountainhead Wines, Forever Sweet, Mama's Boy, Saffron. Ninety 9 Bottles and Drinks Unlimited are providing beer tastings.
In addition, the Norwalk High School Culinary Department will offer items prepared by students.
There will also be a silent auction featuring Red Sox tickets, spa gift certificates and a Dooney & Bourke satchel.
"The community looks forward to this unique and lively event every year," NEF Director Gloria Tenofsky said in a release. "The evening helps support Norwalk public education while allowing local eateries to promote their specialties."
Founded in 1997, Norwalk Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises money to support Norwalk's public schools. NEF promotes teacher effectiveness through professional development; classroom innovation through teacher mini-grants, and community engagement through local partnerships. This year, NEF is focusing on efforts to support teacher training around the Common Core State Standards.
