The YWCA Darien/Norwalk's Job Search Support program provides one-on-one job search guidance for women in all stages of the job search process. A free half hour consultation is offered to discuss any aspect of the job search, from contemplating a return to work to starting a resume.
A new session of computer classes in Microsoft Office applications will begin Jan. 30 to help women who are looking to improve their skills.
The range of services the YW Job Search Support program offers includes resume creation or updating, cover letter writing, individual counseling on all aspects of job search and tutoring in Microsoft Office applications. Computer classes are offered on a regular basis in Keyboarding, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
Certified social worker and career coach Kate Foster leads the program. Foster has 12 years experience as a corporate human resource professional and more than 25 years experience in clinical social work. Whether it's getting a part-time job, returning to a former career or embarking on a new opportunity, she can help.
The YWCA Job Search Support Program was originally developed in the 1980s to help women who need to become financially self-sufficient gain the job skills they need to enter the workforce. In the past, participants have been residents of Darien, Norwalk, Greenwich, Wilton, Ridgefield, Fairfield,and Stamford.
