Norwalk's Beal helps Muhlenberg College make postseason run

Allentown, Pa. -- Senior Adam Beal (Norwalk, Conn.) helped the Muhlenberg College mens soccer team finish among the nation's elite this season.

Beal made six appearances at back for a defense that ranked 24th nationally in goals against average (0.59) and registered 12 shutouts.

Muhlenberg advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament for only the fourth time in school history, before losing to Merchant Marine 1-0 on Nov. 20.

The Mules began the season with a school-record 15-game unbeaten streak and finished the year ranked No. 12 in Division III with 13-3-6 mark, including 5-1-3 in the Centennial Conference.
