NORWALK -- A man with addresses in Norwalk and Bridgeport was arrested Sunday night after police said they found eight shell casings from a small caliber handgun at Woodward and Meadow streets.

Police said at least one bullet pierced a white van in the area after shots were fired just after 8:30 p.m., but no one was injured.

Jonas Labaze, 19, of 261 Ely Ave. in Norwalk and 1350 Park Ave. in Bridgeport, was charged with reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace after police said witnesses indicated he was the shooter.

Police did not find Labaze with a weapon.

Labaze is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond and is to be arraigned Monday at state Superior Court in Norwalk.

The shell casings police found were near the C&S grocery store at Woodward and Meadow streets, police said.
